Job Summary

Working in person and via video conference, our Essay Coaches guide students through all the various written components of the private school and college application processes. Additional training in private school and college admissions will be offered to successful applicants.

General Responsibilities

• Provide professional writing instruction in person and via video conference
• Work one-on-one with students to ensure pieces are completed and deadlines are met
• Facilitate client workshops on essay writing related-topics (both in person and via video conference)
• Coordinate with team members to ensure student and parent questions are answered and student essays and resumes follow suggested application strategies

Basic Qualifications

ALL applicants MUST BE MASSACHUSETTS RESIDENTS

ALL applicants must successfully pass state and national background checks

ALL applicants must have:

• A master’s degree or higher
• 5 years or more of writing instruction experience
• Excellent work references
• Outstanding communication skills
• Fluency in English

Additional Prerequisites

• Must be able to regularly commute to Norwell, MA office
• Five or more years of professional work experience as a writing instructor or essay consultant
• Possess the experience, humility, and tact necessary to work ethically and professionally with a diverse clientele
• Possess the technical and professional skills required to work remotely, including collaborating with company and staff to ensure deadlines are met
• Outstanding verbal communication skills, especially when communicating with parents, students, and colleagues or facilitating workshops or webinars
• Have excellent instincts for managing client stress and anxiety, the ability to navigate the requests of a demanding clientele, and the foresight to head off problems before they arise
• Possess a high degree of professionalism, expertise, and the maturity to reach out to others for input and advice
